The First Shape
Meet Camilla - founder of The First Shape
2019-2025
The First Shape Timeline
This timeline tells the story of our dream slowly taking shape. From the first cozy conversation where the idea was born, to assembling a passionate team, sourcing the best materials, and building our platform. Every step was filled with excitement, challenges, and the joy of creating something unique – and finally, spreading moments of love with you.
2019
An idea was born
One of the founders of The First Shape, Camilla, was expecting her first child in 2019. When Camilla came home from her first scan, where she had finally received the message that she was expecting a healthy and vibrant little child, she stood with the scan image in her hand and thought to herself: “What a shame that this little unique image just has to be hidden away in a photo album.”
Shortly after, the idea came to her: "Why not turn the most beautiful miracle in life into an eternal work of art?"
2024
From idea to reality
A few years later - after experiencing maternity and life as a parent - the idea of The First Shape became a reality.
Camilla had just become a mother for the second time and the dream of creating something bigger and more meaningful with the scan images of her two little nuggets of gold continued to haunt her. Camilla had two unique posters designed, with drawings of her two girls' scan images. From here, things took off for Camilla - because why not give all parents the opportunity to get a unique image of their first meeting with their child?
Dream Team in place
Camilla shared her idea with her husband, Bjarke, and soon after they began to assemble a strong and well-educated team, with exactly the right skills for the purpose – a creative designer, a skilled programmer, a photographer with an eye for the small details and a strategic marketing manager. A South Jutland, Danish team that has exactly the right skills to deliver The First Shape - a unique and personal poster just for you.
Danish quality in focus
Once the team was in place, the next step was to find the right printing house and select the best Danish quality materials. It was important to us that both the printing and the paper had to meet our high standards – each product is therefore Danish designed and produced to the highest quality. Our clear goal is to deliver art that is both durable, aesthetic, Nordic and timeless.
2025
The website and the technology fell into place
After the design and development work was complete, the website was ready, and all the technical behind-the-scenes stuff was working as it should. It was crucial for our team that the website reflected the message, as well as the ambition to spread love in Denmark, by giving all parents the opportunity to get a unique poster of their first meeting with their child.
